About us

I’m Robert Knight and I founded RJK Automotive Solutions Ltd in Nov 2018, after a career that all started working in the garage of my parents family haulage business in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire in the late 90’s, from the age of 11 working weekends and school holidays, onto eventually completing a Level 3 apprenticeship on HGV’s, trailers and fork lifts.

I was then offered an opportunity to start as a technician at a local VW and Audi franchised retailer in Swansea, that journey then spanned over 16 years and through that time I worked up to service advisor, Service Manager and Aftersales Manager running a large team of staff for various VW Group brands that also included a large used car multi-franchise site.

It is through the management positions I gained experience of how important people development is, whilst also ensuring that we manage people in a way that gets the best out of them, the knock on effect being that it will deliver a performance for the business.

I was then offered an opportunity to work for the VW Group as a contractor based all over the UK, this entailed me working from VW’s Head office in Milton Keynes and also doing retailer coaching visits as part of the brands field team.

This allowed me to engage with various businesses small and large all over the UK, my main objective was to increase customer satisfaction scores and drive improvements in the business to ensure customers receive a 5 star experience, whilst also ensuring the departments across the business are maximising every commercial opportunity through coaching and implementing solid core processes, EVC and retention tools to ensure the customer is informed and valued from drop off to collections, also making the business sustainable and the staff feeling valued.

With a solid background in learning and development, I can support all your staff, from technicians, administrators, service advisors upto management training carried out on site and remotely with you.

I still live in Ammanford and am married to my wife Kelli, we have three kids, Jac, Freya and Finn.
